From idea to final frame
A practical guide to creating science explainers in MA Shorts Studio AI.
01 · Write a connected story
Describe the subject, actions, environments, camera motion, and narration. Build the free storyboard, or use AI planning when configured. Edit every scene and keep a shared character brief.
02 · Render or import real clips
After configuring Runway, generate scene clips with paid credits. Job status comes from the provider, not a pretend progress bar. Alternatively, replace each scene with an MP4 from your device to use the free editor.
03 · Edit with intention
Use the timeline to select scenes. Edit visuals, narration, captions, and transitions. Trim imported or generated clips. A Fade adds a fade to black at scene boundaries. Add AI narration if configured, or import your own licensed background audio.
04 · Export an actual MP4
Every scene needs a real clip. Export performs local H.264 encoding, scene joining, caption burn-in, and audio mixing. 1080p is labeled upscaled. Save a scene-timed SRT separately, or download a thumbnail from a real video frame.
05 · Review before publishing
Connect your channel with Google OAuth from the published app. Review the title, description, hashtags, privacy, and audience setting. Upload only with explicit authorization. An upload success includes the real video ID returned by YouTube.
Frequently asked questions
Is generation free?
Storyboarding, local editing, and local encoding use free components. Runway and OpenAI charge for their APIs. This app does not include unlimited credits.
Are storyboard images generated videos?
No. Demo storyboard frames are illustrative images, explicitly labeled. Only provider-returned clips or your imported videos can be played or exported as MP4.
Can I guarantee character or scientific accuracy?
No. Shared direction improves continuity but does not guarantee identity. Review anatomy, motion, and narration before publishing; this tool is not a source of medical advice.
Why does YouTube connection need setup?
Google requires an OAuth client, a registered redirect URI, enabled YouTube Data API, and consent configuration. Your project must meet Google’s current authorization and quota requirements.
Where are my files saved?
Project metadata is saved on request in the enabled user-scoped key-value store, or in this browser if that capability is absent. Actual imported clips and narration stay in this device’s IndexedDB. Download important finished videos.
